Are you a sports and nature lover? Come with us on this hiking route through Peña del Rey, a natural park that offers incredible views of the Neovolcanic Axis that you'll love!
Between 7 and 7:25 am we'll pick you up at the agreed meeting point and head north to the Peña del Rey. The journey to the foot of this mountain will be done in a 4x4 vehicle.
Once we have arrived at our destination, we'll get off the 4x4 and start a three-hour hike up the Peña del Rey. As we ascend, we'll admire the vegetation of this natural park and learn a lot of interesting facts about the fauna that inhabits this area of the state of Puebla.
During the hiking route, we'll make several stops to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. In addition, halfway along the route we'll replenish our strength with a tasty breakfast consisting of two dishes, juice, fruit and coffee.
The hike will take us to the summit of Peña de Rey. From here we'll have a fabulous panoramic view of Tlaxco and the mountains of the Neovolcanic Axis, with the peak of Citlaltépetl standing out in the distance at 5636 metres high (18491 feet)!
Gradually we'll start our return journey, which will take us about two hours. On this stretch, we'll take another break for lunch, which includes three courses of different country delicacies.
After lunch, we'll return to the vehicles and head to Apizaco to attend a temazcal ritual, an ancestral ceremony typical of the villages of central Mexico. This is a steam bath that has traditionally been used for medicinal purposes, and you're sure to leave feeling relaxed!
We'll finish the activity between 7 pm and 8 pm at the starting point.
