The driver was great, but the guide was awful. He charged three other families 20 euros each, claiming he was the only Spanish-speaking guide because it was the holiday season. At first, he told us it was just us, and then two more families arrived, one of them from Ecuador.

The place is beautiful, 100% recommended. We were only there for an hour, which was very little time, and we had to rush the visit because it was very crowded. I would recommend a patient guide who is willing to explain what lies behind this beautiful place. Opinion translated. Show original.

They texted us to arrange to pick us up the next day at 5 am (because, according to them, the road was closed and they couldn't pick us up earlier). Two men showed up who didn't speak any English or Spanish, and communication was difficult. After 15 minutes, without saying a word, one of them got out of the car, and we were left only with the driver, who didn't say a word to us. In the end, everything was fine, and the guide who was waiting for us there was great, but the communication could have been better.

They told us they'd pick us up at 1:30 in the morning, but they showed up 40 minutes late. The place is spectacular, but because we arrived late, we missed the sunrise, which must have been incredible. Plus, they gave us 30 minutes less than we were supposed to have to enjoy the place…

Bien. Translate this opinion into English.

Okay. It started off a bit strange because a taxi arrived saying it was taking me on the tour, but the driver didn't speak Spanish or English, so communication was a little difficult. I tried contacting the person who had messaged me to confirm, but they didn't answer. There was another person who was communicating with the driver, which made me a little suspicious. Once at Abu Simbel, everything was fine. The guide explained everything before we entered the temples, but he wasn't with us the whole time like on other tours. Opinion translated. Show original.

I booked the excursion and everything went well, they came to pick us up at the ship, on time, efficient, upon arrival I found a friendly and kind guide, very knowledgeable, the only disappointment was that the visit lasts really short, an hour and a half, for a trip of 3 hours each way. By all means, the place and the temples are impressive and scenic. Opinion translated. Show original.

I wouldn't do the tour. They only give you two hours to tell you the history of the place and see the temple. All the information the guide gave us was basic, the first thing Google shows you if you search for the monument. The monuments are of Ramses II and Nefertari, and I left knowing absolutely nothing about the history of either of them. If I were you, I'd just take a taxi, which will be cheaper, and look up the information online because they don't give much more than that.

Disastrous experience! Gathered in a bus of Spaniards and 30 other buses (up to 100 buses in high season!), absent and uninvolved French guide. Complicated journey despite the fatigue. Participants forgotten at the restroom stop during the trip. The site, beautiful but over-touristy, reconstructed monuments degraded and not preserved, paid toilets at exorbitant prices. Rushed to keep up with the Spaniards, explanations in Spanish on the bus. Catastrophic value for money. To be avoided.

ESTAFA TOTAL

On April 16, 2026, I received a voucher from Civitatis confirming our Abu Simbel excursion, with the Nile Palace Cruise pick-up point at 2:00 PM, operated by Dunas Travel. On April 20, 2026, Civitatis emailed me the same voucher again. Dunas Travel never contacted us. I sent a message through the Civitatis app on April 20, 2026, at 7:50 PM, which they never answered. A TOTAL SCAM

The day before, we had to contact them ourselves, and they didn't respond until very late... We were ready at 2 pm, but we didn't leave before 4 pm... The driver's behavior was terrifying... The guide, also scared, didn't offer much explanation... It's a shame because up until this point, everything had been fine with Civitatis.

I found it incorrect that during the booking and on the voucher it was indicated that the departure time was 2 am, while I was later informed that we would leave at 5 am, thus affecting the number of people already on site when we arrived.

FUÉ MUY BUENA LA ACTIVIDAD AUNQUE NO HUBO BUENA COORDINACIÓN PARA RECOGERNOS Y DESPUÉS NADIE NOS DIÓ ANTES LAS ENTRADAS Y NO NOS DEJARON ENTRAR A ABU SIMBEL HASTA QUE LO RESOLVIERON MIENTRAS ,AMANECÍA Y NOS PERDIAMOS DEL ESPECTACULO, PORQUE EL CUAL MADRUGAMOS. QUERÍAN QUE MI GUÍA DE UN BARCO, QUE NO TENÍA NADA QUE VER CON SU RESERVACIÓN ME HUBIERA DADO LAS ENTRADAS CUANDO LA ACTIVIDAD DICE QUE INCLUYE ENTRADAS. PERO DESPUÉS TODO ESTUVO BIEN. EL GUÍA DESPUÉS DE ESO YA FUÉ MUY AMABLE Y CONOCEDOR Translate this opinion into English.

The activity was very good, although there wasn't good coordination for picking us up, and then nobody gave us the tickets beforehand, and they wouldn't let us into Abu Simbel until they sorted it out. Meanwhile, dawn was breaking, and we were going to miss the show, which we had gotten up for early to see. They wanted my boat guide, who had nothing to do with our booking, to give me the tickets, even though the activity clearly stated that they were included. But after that, everything was fine. The guide was very kind and knowledgeable. Opinion translated. Show original.
