Description
At the scheduled time we'll collect you from your hotel to begin this hill walking tour through the forests of Guanajuato. Its multiple routes will allow you to enjoy a unique way of experiencing the nature of inland Mexico.
Depending on the season, we'll hike in 1 of the 3 areas on the outskirts of Guanajuato. One of them may be La Bufa Hill, with its wide variety of flowers and trees. On this route we'll soak up the tranquillity of the forest, high above the hustle and bustle of the city.
In the case of visiting the Sierra de Santa Rosa, we'll discover even more riches in the area. We'll walk on trails where we'll hear the chuïnes, blue little birds very similar to sparrows. We'll also be able to admire the holm oak trees forest, where we'll be told about the area's mining history and the paths that were once used for transport.
Here, we'll learn about the different trees that grow in the area, such as the willow trees, capulines, wild olive trees, ash trees, mesquites, colorines and palo blancos. Did you know that water from 3 rivers is sent to this reservoir, the Guanajuato, the Chapín and the Trinidad?
The tour will come to an end back at the hotels after 3 hours of hiking.
