Get to know one of the most fascinating and unique cities in Mexico on this day trip to San Miguel de Allende. We'll stroll down its picturesque streets, admire the unique architecture and learn about its rich history.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Hostal Amigo in the centre of Mexico City to begin our day trip to San Miguel de Allende. Throughout the approximately 4-hour journey, you'll have the chance to admire incredible scenic views.
Once we arrive at San Miguel de Allende, we'll go on a 1.5-hour guided tour of the city's main landmarks. We'll see the iconic Parish of Saint Michael the Archangel, the Jardín Principal, the Temple of San Francisco, the Casa de Allende, and the Plaza Cívica, amongst other emblematic spots.
Throughout the tour, we'll also learn more about the history of Mexico. In front of the Municipal Palace, we'll get to know the importance of Miguel Ignacio Allende in the War of Independence, a crucial event that marked the end of Spanish rule and the birth of the First Mexican Empire.
Additionally, we'll venture into the Artisanal Market, a spot filled with colours and creativity where you'll get to marvel at, and even purchase, products made out of papier maché, blown glass, and metals. You'll be amazed by this place's beauty!
After the tour, you'll have 3.5 hours of free time to keep exploring San Miguel de Allende at your own pace. You can try some of the local cuisine in some of the city's restaurants or markets, visit renowned art galleries, and swing by the viewpoint to capture scenic views of the city. You can't miss it!
Lastly, we'll begin our journey back to Mexico City and say our goodbyes at our initial meeting point after a total of 18 hours.
Day Trip Options
During the booking process, you can choose between the following options:
- Day trip without lunch: in this case, you'll follow the same itinerary previously described. This option includes round-trip transport and an English-speaking guide.
- Day trip with lunch: along with the previously described tour, this option includes a delicious box lunch. There is also a vegetarian option! If you choose this option, you'll have to head to the café at the meeting point to pick up your lunch before boarding the bus.
- Day trip with or without lunch in a small group: you can also do the two previous options in a small group, with no more than 12 people.
