Immerse yourself in a journey through history and Mexican art with this guided tour of 2 of Mexico City's most emblematic museums: the Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as the Blue House, and the Leon Trotsky House Museum. It'll be a fascinating route through the life and works of 2 iconic figures of the 20th century.
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Mexico City and we'll make our way south of the capital on a 45-minute drive. Our first stop will be the famous Blue House, the house where Frida Kahlo was born, lived, and painted some of her most renowned works.
This museum, which opened its doors in 1958, is home to a unique collection of personal objects, paintings, and original furniture which allow us to get to know the artist's life up close. We'll explore the house's rooms and gardens as we get to know the fascinating story of Frida and her relationship with Diego Rivera. You'll be amazed by the magic that envelops each corner of this place!
After our 1.5-hour tour of the Blue House, we'll make our way to the Leon Trotsky Museum House, just a few minutes away. Did you know that Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera were close friends with the Russian revolutionary? This fortified house was the final refuge of Trotsky and his wife Natalia Sedova, as well as the scene of one of the most shocking murders of the 20th century.
During our 1-hour guided visit, we'll see the office where this Soviet leader worked, observe documents and personal objects, and learn more about his exile in Mexico. It'll be a tour filled with history and politics which will help you gain a deeper understanding of the turbulent context of the time.
Lastly, we'll begin the journey back to your hotel and say our goodbyes after a total of 4 to 5 hours.
Hotel Pickup
Please note that hotel pickup and drop–off services are included in this activity for those staying in the centre, Polanco, close to the Angel of Independence, and the Colonias Roma and Condesa. If your hotel is outside this designated area, we'll get in touch with you to establish an alternative meeting point.
