We'll meet at the designated time in front of the Palacio de Bellas Artes. After quick introductions, we'll set off on a historical journey to understand the social, political, and cultural context that led to the Mexican Revolution. We'll cross the Alameda Central. Did you know this is the oldest urban park in the Americas? As we walk along its paths, we'll explore this space as a stage for social transformations and a meeting point for different social classes during the 19th and 20th centuries. We'll talk about how the Alameda witnessed key moments from both the colonial era and the years leading up to the Revolution.
We'll reach the Museo Mural Diego Rivera, where we'll take a close look at the mural "Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in the Alameda Central." Through its composition, we'll identify historical figures and analyze how mural art became a tool for spreading ideology after the Revolution.
We'll then walk toward the imposing Monument to the Revolution, built on the unfinished structure of the former Legislative Palace.
