Explore Santa María la Ribera on a guided tour, visiting its alternative neighborhood and the iconic, most photographed Morisco Kiosk.
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Museo Universitario del Chopo to begin this guided tour of the Santa María la Ribera neighborhood. Are you ready to discover an unexpected side of Mexico City? Here we go!
We'll admire from outside the museum that, with its industrial architecture, houses contemporary art exhibitions and is a reference to popular culture in the Mexican capital.
Then, we'll walk through the streets of Santa María la Ribera, a neighborhood that has managed to blend tradition and modernity, until we reach the heart of the neighborhood: the Alameda. There, we’ll find the iconic Kiosco Morisco. This Moorish-style monument is one of the best examples of Mexico's eclectic architecture!
If we take the tour on a Saturday, we'll also stop by the Tianguis Cultural del Chopo, a meeting place for lovers of music, underground fashion, and countercultural art. Among records, vintage clothing, crafts, and many more surprises, we'll feel the unique energy of this place!
Finally, we'll say goodbye after a 2-hour walking tour in the Alameda.
