Day Trip Details
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Playa del Carmen and set off to our first stop of the day: the archaeological site of Ek' Balam. Did you know its name means "Black Jaguar" in the Mayan language? Let's discover it!
Once we arrive, we'll step into the remains of an ancient city surrounded by the mysteries of the jungle. We'll walk through its century-old structures and admire its imposing temples. You'll even climb up to the top of its acropolis to take in the unforgettable scenic views while we share the history of this civilization's legacy.
To make the cultural immersion even more complete, we'll participate in an ancestral Mayan ceremony that will connect us with the site's energy. Plus, we'll also cater to our taste buds thanks to a sweet artisanal chocolate tasting, a sacred treasure for Mesoamerican cultures.
After this dose of history, we'll head to the Yaaxkiin restaurant. Here, we'll enjoy a delicious buffet-style lunch where you can taste the most authentic dishes of Yucatecan cuisine in a calm setting.
Afterward, we'll continue our trip toward Izamal, renowned as the Yellow City. We'll explore its charming historic center, admiring the beauty of its Colonial streets, seeing its emblematic convent, and climbing up the impressive pyramid of Kinich Kakmó, one of the largest pyramids in the entire state.
Before ending our adventure, we'll make one last stop near Valladolid to visit the Noolha cenote. In this magical nature site, you'll have free time to take a well-deserved, refreshing dip.
Finally, we'll return to Playa del Carmen and conclude our day trip by dropping you off at your hotel 12 hours after pickup.
