Klementinum Classical Music Concert
Concert in the Hall of Mirrors at the Klementinum
The Klementinum is one of the most monumental and historically significant architectural complexes in all of Europe. Originally founded in the 11th century as a chapel dedicated to Saint Clement, this site underwent a complete transformation in the 16th century. For centuries, it served as a beacon of knowledge, housing one of the most important universities of the Holy Roman Empire, as well as its famous Baroque Library and the imposing Astronomical Tower.
Hidden in the heart of this stone colossus is the Hall of Mirrors, built in 1724. It owes its name to the innovative and unusual arrangement of dozens of mirrors on its walls and vaulted ceilings. Far from being a mere aesthetic whim, the architects strategically installed them to reflect the spectacular ceiling frescoes, multiply the light from the candles, and create a sense of infinity. Furthermore, the combination of fine woods, stucco, and marble endowed the chapel with miraculous acoustics, making it, from its very inception, a temple dedicated to musical excellence.
With this ticket, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable evening in this restricted-access venue. The Klementinum’s Chapel of Mirrors remains closed to the public throughout the day and opens its doors exclusively for this concert. Booking this experience is the only way to admire this Baroque treasure from the inside.
The one-hour concert will be performed by the prestigious Czech Royal Orchestra, which will delight you with timeless pieces by composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart, Handel, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Bizet, Verdi, and Smetana.
