Discover historic haciendas in northern Campeche, where colonial charm, Maya roots, and local crafts come together on this day trip! Plus, we'll visit Xcalumkin!
Tour Details
At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in San Francisco de Campeche to begin this cultural adventure. Are you ready to discover the hidden treasures of the state of Campeche? Let's go!
After an hour's drive, our first stop will be Xcalumkin, an archaeological site that was an important city of the Maya civilization. We'll tour its ancient palaces decorated in stone, its causeways and its jungle environment, and learn about its architecture and symbolism.
We'll continue to Hacienda Blanca Flor, a majestic 19th century construction that evokes the times of the henequen boom. We'll stroll through its gardens and galleries, recalling a golden era in the history of Campeche, when henequen was known as the "green gold".
Afterward, we'll head to the charming Hacienda Santa Cruz. Here, we'll meet local artisans who will show us how the traditional jipi japa hats are made, using ancestral techniques with natural fibers. This handicraft, typical of the region, is a living example of the ingenuity and cultural identity of Campeche.
Our last stop will be in Tankuché, a hacienda with rural charm where we'll discover the melipona bee, a native stingless species. We'll learn about its medicinal properties and the importance it has for the Maya communities.
Before returning, we'll regain our energy with a delicious traditional Campeche lunch, prepared with local ingredients and served in a very authentic setting.
Finally, we'll arrive at your hotel and say goodbye 7 hours later.
Keep in Mind
If Hacienda Blanca Flor is closed on the day of the activity due to a private event, we’ll only tour the exterior areas.
