Experience an adrenaline rush sandboarding in the Death Valleys of Chile and take in the endless dunes of the Atacama Desert, framed by majestic volcanoes. One in a lifetime experience!
Activity Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama and drive about 10 minutes to the entrance of Death Valley, also known as Valle de Muerte. Can you guess why?
We'll explore this otherworldly landscape, featuring reddish mountains, striking rock formations, and endless dunes under the Antofagasta sun. Upon arrival, we'll provide you with sandboards and a brief tutorial. Let the adventure begin!
You’ll have 2 hours and 30 minutes to slide down the dunes, climb back up at your own pace, take countless photos, and enjoy the silence of the Atacama Desert. We’ll also take a short snack break.
From some of the highest dunes, we'll get stunning views of the Licancabur and Láscar volcanoes, guardians of San Pedro de Atacama. Did you know that Licancabur was considered a sacred place by pre-Hispanic cultures and still has ceremonial ruins on its slopes?
Finally, we’ll return to your hotel, concluding this 4-hour adventure.
