We'll meet at the designated time in the iconic Zenea Garden, in the heart of Santiago de Querétaro, to begin our tour of three remarkable haciendas. At each stop, we'll enjoy a 40-minute guided tour followed by 30 minutes of free time to explore on your own. Let's get started!
Our first destination, after a 45-minute drive, is Hacienda San Gil, an estate steeped in history. Its walls have witnessed pivotal moments, from the troops of Miguel Hidalgo to Maximilian of Habsburg. The façade, inspired by the Sierra Gorda missions, will transport you back in time.
Next, we'll visit the Hacienda Galindo, built in 1582 and surrounded by myths and legends. You'll learn about its role as a mill powered by the Galindo River and its historical significance in the region.
Our final stop is Hacienda La Llave, founded in 1535 by Beatriz Andrade de Cervantes. This estate flourished during the colonial era, and we'll uncover its fascinating story, from its founding to its 19th-century legacy.
After touring La Llave, we'll savor a traditional three-course lunch at San Juan del Río restaurant, featuring local specialties like enchiladas queretanas and gorditas de maíz quebrado.
With full bellies, we'll return to Santiago de Querétaro, concluding the tour at the starting point after approximately 8 hours of exploration.
