Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Valladolid and drive to the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Mexico and a World Heritage Site.
After almost an hour's drive, we'll arrive at this ancient Mayan city for a guided tour. We'll admire the famous Temple of Kukulcan, a majestic temple dedicated to the Feathered Serpent God that holds amazing stories of power and devotion.
We'll also explore other important shrines, such as the Temple of the Warriors, with its stone carvings evoking a warrior and spiritual past, and the Observatory, where the ancient Maya studied the cosmos. We'll learn the mysteries of this civilisation!
After our 2-hour tour of Chichen Itza, we'll head to a sacred cenote, a true natural paradise that the Mayans considered the entrance to the underworld. Here, you can take a dip in the crystal clear waters surrounded by rock formations. We'll also enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with typical Yucatan dishes such as cochinita pibil, chicken with achiote and fresh garnishes—a real treat for the palate!
After 2 hours in the cenote and with renewed energy, we'll continue the route to Ek Balam, an archaeological site that houses amazing structures, such as the Oval Palace and the Temple of the Jaguars, decorated with beautiful carvings and friezes depicting deities and mythical figures. Here, we'll go on a 1.5-hour guided tour.
Finally, we'll return to Valladolid and say goodbye at your hotel 9 hours after pickup.
