At 8:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Bacalar and set off to the archeological site in Calakmul, one of the most important areas in the Mayan world.
After 4 hours of traveling, we'll reach one of the Mayan civilization's most important sites in the region. Calakmul, which was discovered by chance, has almost 27 square miles (70 square kilometers) of land where you can find over 6000 buried structures.
At this archeological site, you'll discover some of its stele—stone monoliths intricately carved with ancient inscriptions that tell the story of the Mayan people during the years they inhabited Calakmul. Plus, you'll discover the five main structures of the archeological venue, such as the Great Plaza, the Ballcourt, and the Acropolis.
Once we've explored Calakmul, we'll return to the bus that will take us back to the hotels in Bacalar.
