At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Mérida and set off to the archaeological site of Dzibilchaltún, located just 10 mi (17 km) north of the city.
Once there, we'll discover this important Mayan settlement that was inhabited since the year 500 B.C. until the conquest. For 3 hours, you'll explore the ancient structures and homes until we reach the most emblematic building of the complex: the Temple of the Seven Dolls.
Did you know this temple has this name due to some figures that were found during the excavations? This temple is perfectly aligned with the sun during the equinox, which makes it one of the best examples of Mayan astronomy. You'll be surprised!
After exploring the Dzibilchaltún archaeological site, we'll return to Mérida and head to the Mayan World Museum for a 2-hour guided tour. This modern exhibition space combines technology, archaeology, and art that offer a complete vision of Mayan culture.
The museum, whose design is inspired by the sacred ceiba, houses over 1,100 pieces among ritual items, textiles, sculptures, and tools. You'll also enjoy the interactive exhibitions and immersive projections that will reveal the worldview, science, and legacy of this civilization.
Once we finish the tour of the museum, we'll take you to your hotel and say our goodbyes 6 hours after pickup.
