After picking you up from your hotel in Morelia at 8 am, we'll head to Santa Clara del Cobre, one of Michoacán's Magical Towns, or Pueblos Mágicos, with deep-rooted traditions and culture.
We'll take a guided tour of the historic centre of Santa Clara del Cobre to admire some of its most important monuments. The baroque colonial façade of the Church of Nuestra Señora del Sagrario and the Church of the Immaculate Conception are sure to stand out.
Passing through the main square, we'll get to admire picturesque houses with arcades and watch the comings and goings of the locals by the pavillion. After our tour of Santa Clara, you'll have an hour of free time during which you can have lunch or explore at your own pace.
Afterwards, we'll visit a handicraft workshop where we'll witness the local technique of copper hammering. The ancient Purépechas stood at the anvil and hammered the pieces in a synchronised fashion. We'll also see some of the finished works and understand how this craft has been passed down through the generations.
We'll finish the tour by returning to your hotel in Morelia for 7 pm.
