Activity Details
At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Santiago and head toward the impressive Cajón del Maipo, one of the most spectacular natural areas in Chile’s Metropolitan Region.
After approximately 1 hour on the road, we’ll arrive at Casa Bosque, an iconic restaurant. This unique building, designed by Chilean artist Sergio Andrade, combines wood and iron in an architecture that looks like something out of a storybook. Here, you’ll receive a brief safety and environmental conservation talk before starting the hike.
We’ll then get back in the vehicle and travel for about 1 hour to the starting point of our hiking route through Cajón del Maipo. We’ll begin the hike with a steep 20 minute climb, rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of the valley.
Once on the plateau, the trail becomes gentler, allowing us to calmly admire the landscapes of the Chilean Andes. Snow-capped peaks, fresh air, and the silence of nature will accompany us as we make our way to the Valle El Yeso viewpoint, located at approximately 3000 meters (9,843 feet) above sea level.
From this panoramic point, you’ll enjoy privileged views of El Yeso Reservoir and the Mesón Alto Glacier, 2 natural gems that will leave you speechless.
To complete the experience, we’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch, including a sandwich and typical products, while taking in the grandeur of the Andes.
After resting and taking plenty of photos, we’ll retrace our steps along the same trail back to the vehicle. Finally, we’ll return to Santiago and say our goodbyes at your hotel after 12 hours of activity.
