On this hiking route through the petroglyphs in Parras de la Fuente, we'll have the opportunity to discover the ancestral traces of the history of Coahuila.
Hike Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Parras de la Fuente to leave the town behind and venture into the heart of the Coahuila semi-desert.
Once there, we'll hike along trails, paths, and natural canyons. Depending on the day's conditions, we'll explore routes that range from high mountain areas to deeper gorges, always in protected and relatively unexplored environments.
During the hike, we'll visit sites with original petroglyphs and pictographs. The guide will help you interpret these symbols associated with the "Culture of the Sun," allowing you to understand the cosmogony, rituals, and way of life of the ancient inhabitants who lived in these lands centuries ago.
Along the way, you'll also discover the rich local flora and fauna, learning how life thrives in this extreme climate and the curious geological formations that shape the Parras skyline.
Then, we'll pause for a traditional snack in nature. We'll savor authentic wheat flour gorditas, a regional delicacy that will give you a taste of Coahuila's true flavors before we begin our return journey.
Finally, we'll say goodbye at the starting point, between 2.5 and 3 hours after pickup.
