Escape from San Cristobal de las Casas for the day in search of stunning natural landscapes on this tour to Las Nubes Waterfalls. Discover one of the most extraordinary places in Chiapas!
At 4 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in San Cristobal de las Casas and set off on a four and a half hour drive to one of the most extraordinary places in Chiapas: the Las Nubes Waterfalls. Once there, you'll have 40 minutes of free time to get some breakfast and fuel up for the day.
The Las Nubes Waterfalls are located in the Montes Azules Biosphere Reserve and surrounded by extensive Madrean pine-oak woodlands. Walking through the park, we'll get to admire dozens of spectacular waterfalls including Las Caiditas, El Respiradero and Las Golondrinas. Keep your camera handy!
Next, we'll go deep into the Lacandon jungle and climb a dizzying suspension bridge. Hanging 150 metres above sea level, the bridge offers a breathtaking view of the different turquoise-blue waterfalls. Did you know that the falls create mist when they hit the rocks? It's thanks to this phenomenon that the area has been named Las Nubes, or "The Clouds"!
Afterwards, we'll take you to an area where bathing is allowed to enjoy a dip in the waters of the Santo Domingo River. You'll then have 40 minutes of free time for lunch before we return to San Cristóbal, where we will arrive at 9 pm.
